This superb spring holiday, taking in the French and Italian Rivieras, starts with an escorted afternoon departure by Eurostar from St Pancras, London. On the Riviera enjoy Free Drinks every night, visits to Villefranche, Monaco and Alassio and the option to visit Portofino. We return to London by train arriving early-to-mid evening.
We stay in Diano Marina, situated on Italy’s Riviera of Flowers, where a mild climate ensures spring arrives early. The resort is a pretty seaside town with stylish, chic shops and pavement cafés with a relaxed atmosphere as well as a long promenade. To one end lies the harbour where boats ferry passengers on scenic cruises along the coast. To the other is the beach and quiet hotels, some with private beaches. Our hotel is centrally located a short walk from the sea and the town centre. The location is ideal for visiting some of the best and most famous resorts along the glorious Riviera of Flowers coast.
By train to Nice via Paris or Lille
Our holiday starts with an escorted afternoon* departure from St Pancras International, London, where we join Eurostar to Paris or Lille (just over 2 hours to Paris, approx 90 minutes to Lille) where we transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay. The evening is free to explore at leisure and obtain dinner. The next morning we join the TGV for our journey to Nice. On board the TGV, settle in to your comfortable seat and relax as the French countryside rolls past the windows. The train has a buffet car where you can obtain drinks and refreshments as you speed towards Nice.
Making the most of the Riviera
On arrival in Nice, we board our coach for the short drive (around 90 minutes) to our hotel in Diano Marina. You will have time to settle in before dinner at the hotel. There will be time to explore the resort at leisure and our included excursions will take in Villefranche and Monaco, on the French Riviera, and Alassio, on the Italian Riviera of Flowers. There is also an opportunity to visit Portofino, the delightful Italian resort which has become a favourite of the international jet set.

Eurostar to Paris
Afternoon departure from St Pancras by Eurostar to Lille or Paris. Transfer to our overnight hotel. This evening you are free to explore the city and savour one of the many good restaurants in the centre.
Day 2: TGV to Nice
Depart the hotel after breakfast to join the mid-morning TGV to Nice. On arrival we meet our coach and drive to Diano Marina and check-in at the Piccolo Hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Free day to relax
Free day to enjoy Diano Marina and shop at the local market. Coffee⁄Tea available throughout the day. Dinner at the Hotel.
Day 4: Discovering Villefranche & Monaco
Drive to Villefranche to enjoy this pretty resort on the French Riviera. You will have ample time to explore at leisure and obtain lunch. Next we visit Monaco & Monte Carlo. Return to the hotel late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: Discovering Alassio
Half-day excursion to Alassio to discover the delights of this resort on Italy’s Riviera of Flowers. You will have ample time to explore at leisure and obtain lunch. Return to Diano Marina for dinner an en evening of musical entertainment.
Day 6: Free day
Free day to enjoy Diano Marina or you might wish to join our optional excursion to Portofino. This delightful resort has to be approached by boat - £39pp. Return to the hotel late afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Arrivederci Italy
Depart the hotel after breakfast for the drive to Nice Station. We board the TGV to Lille where we join Eurostar for the return to St Pancras. We expect to arrive mid–evening.

Piccolo Hotel – 3 star
Set in a quiet location within walking distance of the sea and centre of Diano Marina, the hotel has a panoramic terrace and restaurant and a comfortable bar. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, telephone, and satellite TV. The restaurant offers a full buffet breakfast, tea and coffee all day and dinner served at your table. There’s a Free Bar with local brands between 18.00 and 24.00hrs each day, plus live music one evening and a candle-lit dinner.
